Food is exquisite! Curry here is better than a lot of places around me in Queens. I always look forward to coming to Staten now haha. Chicken curry platter comes with various dishes including a phenomenal jackfruit and dal.

If one looks for authentic home cooked Sri Lankan food, this is the place. The woman behind the counter (I assume she is the owner ) helps you out to make sure what you are looking for is met. The food definitely reminded me of what I ate at home and absolutely carry the deliciousness of home cooked food. The place is unassuming and very clean. The day’s buffet is laid out in the counter. The owner will help you out with her friendly service to explain what is on offer each day and also will ask what your level of tolerance for spicy food. With regard to drinks try out their passion fruit juice or if you have a sweet tooth the Sri Lankan Faluda! This is the place for ultimate home cooked food in New York and the place makes all it worth to ride on the boat from Manhattan to Staten Island.

Incredible Sri Lankan food and a chance to talk to the owner is worth the trip alone. Had some delicious crab curry here and spent most of my visit discussing food and various cultures with the woman running the shop. She was a delight and was so happy to recommend different foods to me. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience. Treated us like family. As soon as we walked in the owner wanted to know our names and was very happy to meet us. I explained how excited I was to try different Sri Lankan foods, and she didn't even give us a menu, she just said don't worry, I'll make you a little bit of everything good. And everything was delicious. Black goat curry was out of this world. The Watalappan was amazing. And the mango Lassi was ridiculous. She actually didn't let us drink it until halfway into the meal, because she knew we would devour it and she didn't want out appetite getting ruined. Cannot wait to go back.

The food had so much flavor and was seasoned so well. The owner Viji was very sweet and welcoming. She made sure you had the best dining experience. I felt like I was welcomed into her home. Coming here was worth the ferry commute.

Being a Sri Lankan myself I can assure you, you can't expect anything more. Aunty Viji and her sis-in-law makes sure that you're being treated in the most hospitable way and you're being poured out with so much love and generosity for what you pay. I think that's what most special about this place. It's not just about the amazing food it's also everything else about that place. 2 of us from our group there were from KS, but I was wishing I could take aunty Viji to KS with me cuz she felt like home. I loooooved all the food I ate there and she even made us chai though it wasn't in the menu. (She does that to the special customers) I've added all the pics I took of the food and aunty Viji and her sis in law as well. රසම රසය. ரமப ரச
